Ian Axness

Ian Axness is a music director, pianist, and collaborative theater junkie.  He pursues an eclectic mix of performing arts projects (from improv to opera) along with a healthy schedule of random accompanying at NYU and elsewhere.  Recent: As You Like It (Delacorte/Public), Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha (NY City Opera Education), Same River (Irondale/Strike Anywhere), Flora the Red Menace (Oberlin), Thanksgiving! A! Pageant! (McGee/Johnstone).  Favorite gigs include MD-ing at New Dramatists, coaching with Salty Brine, and Soundpainting whenever possible.  Ian is an alumnus of the Sunshine Scouts at Oberlin College, and he is thrilled to be working with PoliSub!
